perceived youth & customer service

I am blessed to look much younger than my actual age. For some reason, this blessing is a curse when I am standing in the Premier line. I am always the only one to be asked if I am a Premier member by UA employees who are eager to kick me out of the line. I have actually been "carded" ( in LA and SF) in order to defend my place in line. (Though I am never told by reservations that I should be prepared to show my Mileage Plus gold card when checking in.)

I have also experienced horrible service in business class. I know substandard service is commonplace nowadays. But when the two youngest-looking passengers (my sister and myself) are the only ones in Business to be neglected, snapped at, and whose jackets were not offered to be hung in the closet, what other conclusion can be drawn?

I am wondering if there is anyone else out there who's experienced this?
