In New Jersey, I don't know of anyone that is against full serve. Even with that extra layer of cost (gas pumpers), NJ gas can be significantly cheaper than any of the surrounding states - especially the Philly and NY metro areas. If they did away on the prohibition on self-serve, there would be a lot of jobs lost and the state would likely raise the gas taxes, so the net effect is that you'd pay the same price, but actually have to get out of your car and pump your gas yourself!
