I flew HKG-LAX yesterday and was told that economy and first were full, and probably only 10-15 open seats in business. However, two weeks ago LAX - HKG was less than 50% full in economy and probably < 30% in business.

It seems like the return from Asia to the US seem to be quite full. But it may also be the day of the week.
