I forget who, but someone here suggested to write directly on the lid/interior using a Permanent Marker. That makes very good sense, rather than taping the info ~ which could conveniently also get lost.

Johnny ~ one of our cases languished at LHR for 11 weeks+ this summer. Much of the contents were totally ruined by mold and mildew, as the bag was left out but I was thankful for those items which were OK. The standard compensation did not cover our losses, but it was better than nothing. (Though I had hoped that they would also offer some carrot/bandaid for the considerable inconvenience ~ we had traveled full-fare J, longhaul, as well as several CE on that trip; BA chose to totally ignore our letter containing a short&polite complaint). Your bag could still turn up ~ don't lose all hope!

Bjorns ~ what was your wife thinking ! Even though all my jewelry is fully insured, I always keep it in my handbag. Mind you, I only bring a few pieces in a small pouch. Maybe her "case" is really big, LOL. I'm glad it turned up ^.
