I'm trying to book Z travel for next September (9/1/08) from SFO-FRA-MUC-OSL (return on the 16th, OSL-MUC-ORD-SFO). I already split off ogg-sfo & rtw portions, as they made the fare too much.

I found similar to an earlier poster; SFO-FRA fares in lowest business at ~$10,000. But adding MUC makes it come down to a Z fare at a nice price of about 1/3rd. However, adding OSL (SFO-FRA-MUC-OSL) brings it back up, and it only fares at D. (Seatcounter shows Z availability however). I would like to go the entire way in Z, but my fall back is to just go to MUC in Z, and then make a separate Y booking on LH for MUC-OSL & rtw. So, how can I add the last leg to OSL and keep it in Z (and not blow it all up to D)?

I noticed that going SFO-FRA-OSL is >$5000. Note: my route is a little convoluted as I'm trying to travel with Mrs. mauiUAflyer for whom I got an XF ticket.

My tools to date have been Seatcounter & .bomb. I'll try the $99 solution that camachinist mentioned. Is ITA also a good tool for this? (Not having a windows box, some software won't be available to me).

A separate but related question was touched upon by an earlier poster; is it even possible to book just, say, SFO-FRA in D, and keep all the rest in Z?

Thanks.

Actually, you did find the OSL Z Fare, it's just not a great Z fare.

ZSPECE UA Z Round-Trip 4710.00 (USD)

The MUC Z fare is nearly $1500 cheaper.
