I have just come off the phone to BA Baggage line and they have informed me that my lost bag of now 8 weeks will probably go up for auction as they cannot located it in LHR. This is basically becasue they have stopped looking for it as it has passed 45 days. You can imagine my tone of voice upon hearing this as the contents are worth well in excess of £3500 and BA Customer Relations only offered my £790 as their maximum liability.

What I want to know is can BA put my bag and contents up for auction without my permission?? I asked if they can collect the bag to take it to the auctioneers they can surely get it back to me but she could not answer that.
