I thought that AA used only 777s into LHR and I am not even sure the 757 has the range (4300 NM ?). I know they are used on ORD -MAN as all Y, but could this be an operational acft substitution both ways ?

Seems weird to me.

I don't know about the range issue (although I know there are 7+ hour flights to/from South America on AA that use 757s), but Ive taken the MIA-LHR trip often on AA and it has never been on a 757.
