I find the "milk run" routes the most interesting. London-Frankfurt-Tel Aviv-Bombay-Bangkok-Hong Kong. Five segments is a lot for what is now a not-even-that-long nonstop LHR-HKG. Lunch-Dinner-Continental Breakfast-Breakfast-Lunch (although BA was cheap and only served afternoon tea instead of a second lunch on the FRA-TLV segment if you were a through passenger, even in F. Cheap sods!
Also interesting is the Air France "apology" insert during a U.S. oil strike as flights were consolidated, resulting in extra seats being added. Quelle surprise!
