With all this upheaval about frequent flyer programs getting worse, I'm starting to think that I don't want tons of miles that may become worthless.

In that case, Chase/Shell Mastercard (or others, like Exxon, etc.) become more attractive. I have that card and my gas is free (I still pay for the gas but my account gets a rebate which covers most of the cost of the gas).

Some may like the cash back cards like Discover.
