Hi

Here's a more recent thread - I'd added a list of some of the busier bars.

If you're not keen on 'twinky' bars then you'll probably not really enjoy any of the Cabaret Tito bars. Toms is definitely worth a visit, as is El Taller on Florencia. In Zona Rosa, try Lipstick and Boy Bar both of which attract a slightly older, more mixed crowd. Living on Insurgentes is worth a visit on Friday and Saturday - older, more upmarket crowd, music wise it's pretty standard house/techo though the space is great. 219 at 219 Amsterdam in Condesa is a nice, (again more upmarket) mixed lounge bar.

I stayed at the Marco Polo once and is pleasant and in a good location slap bang in the middle of Zona Rosa. I did read somewhere that someone had trouble with the doorman trying to bring a 'friend' back to their room...I usually stay at the Hotel NH in Zona Rosa (there are two other NH Hotels, one in Polanco and one in the Centre) and prefer this to the Marco Polo.

Have a great trip.

Philip
