I hear you, but in this case I think the police report looks significantly more balanced and factual than the media hype (both the hype for and against the travelers).
Reading through the police report, it really appears that what MIGHT have happened (my opinion):
A passenger (NOT the woman that asked to deplane) with an overactive imagination was trying to play air cop and conduct his own little investigation. This PO'd the Iraqi travelers and things snowballed from there. The scared woman that wanted to deplane could have been legitimately intimidated by the ensuing actions of the PO'd travelers.
Thats just a guess of course.
The point I was trying to make is that if I were trying to draw a conclusion from media reports I would either believe that (1) the men were harrased because many people on the plane heard them speaking arabic, or (2) the travelers were a bunch of unprovoked bullies causing a scene. I think the police report did a decent job of presenting the facts without hype.
