Happy to report it was painless. AS agent in SEA tagged my bag thru to final destination and printed both the AS and AA bp. (And the AA segment was an AA flight #, not AS codeshare -- although it was bought on the same ticket)

Connection at ORD was painless enough, and the bag rolled off no problem.
