Without the benefit of the club, if this is a leisure visit, wouldn't it be better to stay off the boardwalk? Especially considering the major "recent" renovations and the Pier @ Caesars. Since you are mentioning $99 rates, I'm assuming you are staying mid-week.
Mid-week dates in AC for HET properties (in December) range from $89 (Showboat), for non-status guests. And, if you don't mind being off the boardwalk Harrah's Marina can be had as low as $79 (and Harrah's has the awesome
new indoor adults only pool as well as a brand new red-door spa) --- free transportation is also provided from Harrah's to the boardwalk properties.
Personally, I would prefer the better location(s) if I could get a room rate equivalent (or less) than the Sheraton's rates. (not to mention some of these properties are nicer than the Sheraton)
