I'm a long time Executive Club member although not an active flier lately.

I still have 130k miles that I was hoping to use for a SEA to CPT business class award. I recently received a notice of a 15k reduced mileage awards from the US. Thought I'd take advantage of it for this winter/spring, but now I see the award has gone from 150k to 180K. (doesn't seem like it was long ago it went from 125k to 150k)


I think it's time for me to close out this account as each time I get close they raise the threshold, plus the difficulty with finding availability. Rather than use the miles for a trip to africa, I could use the miles for 5 partner awards (on AA) for a family trip within the US for next summer.

I'm not up to date on BA Executive Club programs and so I don't know if there is something I may be overlooking.

Any advice on getting more value for my miles or alternatively increasing my balance to keep pace with BA's increases. Or just use them now on AA?
