I absolutely refuse to use the ticketing desk at ORD - they are completely incompetent. I've had so many problems there, I don't even know where to start. The exact same thing happened to me with the credit card block once. What a pain. I'm buying a United ticket with my United Visa...HELLO!!
For the last year+ I've done everything ticket by mail. My blood pressure is much lower as a result.
