I was flying from BWI-CLE this morning and something happened that freaked me out, and Im wondering if this happens alot. I was the lucky winner to have the SSSS on my ticket so when I was going through terminal D security at BWI they made me go into that thing that shoots air at you (I think its to smell if you have any explosives on you or something like that), anyways I was standing in it while it said please wait then suddenly all these alarms went off and a red light. The TSA guy yelled positive result to another TSA guy and shut down all of D security for the moment (putting up the ropes over all the lines.) I was freaked out (im young so that might of added to it). I was expecting to be tackled down or something. They asked me to exit and retest, and this time it came out negative. I then got the most physical pat down of my life. My question is, how often do these things set off? Everyone waiting in line looked at my lime I was some terrorist or something. 5 people who were standing behind me at the security check point when this happened told me they were not "ok" with me on their flight once I got to the gate. Over all it just freaked me out!
I would have told those people to shove it where the sun doesn't shine. At minimum, I hope you told them that their opinion means nothing to you.
In any event, I have never seen anyone set off a "puffer." Half the time, the TSA doesn't even have the puffer lanes open, IME.
