A blank seat map does not mean all seats have been pre-assigned. It means all seats available for pre-assignment have been assigned.

Seats especially in the back are not assigned. They are blocked off so agents can put family or groups together. In the Premier Zone, your middle seats are also blocked off when an elite takes up an aisle or window. If you are not 1P or above, exit rows will appeared blocked even thought they might be free.
