If your boss would like to dine near the Ocean or Newport harbor, try The Cannery in Newport Beach, 15 minutes by car from SNA.

Also Fashion Island, an upscale shopping mall about 10 minutes from SNA, has several good restaurants on the premises including a Roy's, Fleming steakhouse, The Ritz & Il Dolce.
