Nope, Sunday shopping (bar petrol stations, airports, train stations, some bakeries) is illegal in Hesse, with the exceptions of a few Sundays each year. This year, for example, there was Sunday shopping on November 4th.

Otherwise, there are no legal limitations on opening hours. Most shops on Zeil will be open until 8 pm, some may open until 9 on Friday (and maybe Saturday), and even later in the run-up to Christmas. Smaller shops sometimes close as early as 6 pm...
