Continental's Elite Elitism
So, we all know that elites are treated better, by all accounts rightfully so. But get this:
A friend of mine (with no status on any carrier) was flying to Mexico on Continental, in paid First (or business, don't know what they call it).
When it was time for lunch, they offered a choice of a chicken caesar salad or a cheeseburger (which is mystifying in the first place). My friend asked for the salad, and was told they were all out and she had to have the burger.
She made a comment to the FA that they really should load more salads as she was only in row 3 of 6.
The FA gave her a lecture! She said they did have enough salads, but that they'd already gone to the "elite" flyers, who had first choice because they're "more important customers."
She did this in a voice they probably could have heard back in coach.
I'm all for favoring the elites, but....
