Changing planes in FRA, I was airside and bought some German Nutella for a friend back here in SF. If you are not aware, the German kind is different - so its a big deal to get some from back home. Well I forgot that it would not clear security - its considered a liquid, I guess in the way the ketchup is a vegetable, but anyway it was taken from me.

When I arrived at the RCC shortly thereafter, I mentioned to the agent how the Nutella had been taken and my German friend picking me up in SF would be let down. Well the team launched into action. Making cell phone calls, getting packing materials, etc. So what they did was get a gate check packing box and materials, went to all the security points to find the Nutella in the green barrel of discards, convinced the guard to let them have it, packed it, put a luggage tag on it, and checked it on to the plane for me. WOW! And, it was the first luggage off the plane. Thanks Marcel - you are great....and your supervisor is getting a nice email from me.
