If you're gay - yes it's ok.
If you're not - not it's not ok.

If you're my grandmother, you say "Can you pass me the poof, I want to put my feet up" but then to her, a poof is a stuffed stool/footrest. It must be like in the US when people hear us Brits say "I'm just going outside for a fag".
