I had the EXACT same experience w/regard to a mobile phone user on a flight. Left it on, ringing after we left the gate. FAs stopped twice during safety briefing. And I politely said something along the lines of "you know, it's so embarassing when they have to come to you in front of everyone and make a case about it, you sure you don't just want to turn it off?" Gave me SUCH a look. And he was 1K. Also threw me attitude to no end. My only way to get back at him was to repeatedly need to get out to the aisle for bathroom breaks. He was SO annoyed. SFO-LAX Shuttle - 4 trips to the loo.
