iDine miles question

Has anyone ever used a restaurant that has specific "time of day" requirements you must sign up for in advance? We planned to eat at a restaurant last night that required this, but when I got online to sign up for our expected 6:00pm time slot (just prior to walking out of the house) most of that day's times had already been removed as choices. The earliest time posted as a choice was 7:30pm--more than 2 hours away. I have to say, this irritated the heck out of me because plenty of earlier times had been listed when I'd checked the day before. We were pretty hungry by that point so we ended up just picking 7:30 and hoping for the best.

So is the deal that you have to pick a time more than 2 hours in advance, or do time slots disappear as a certain number of people sign up for them? I'm assuming the time of day thing applies to the time you actually pay your bill?? How lenient are they about these time-related rules? There's got to be some kind of grace period, right? Even eating slow and ordering dessert, we still finished up 45 minutes ahead of our desingated time. I'm going to be really annoyed if the miles don't post.
