When you make a booking online. Just before you pay, under itineary details, under the column CLASS, you will be able to see the booking code in brackets for each and every single flight.

I personally find Marco Polo club agents as smart and very helpful. Most of my requests regardless of how odd they are, have been handled very well by the agents at Marco Polo club.
