This will be my first post to this forum.

I'm a MP Silver member and always book my economy class tickets on the CX website.

I see everybody in this forum referring to fare codes (Y,K,B,F ...etc.) and unfortunately I discovered that CX is now also limiting flight award redemption to the expensive fare classes

What I absolutely hate is that when booking through their website, I can't find any mention of the fare class I'm booking (am I missing something?). Even after I get my booking confirmation it doesn't mention the fare class (just states 'Economy'). Only when I check the invoice that they email me, do I see a fare code behind the class.

So...do I have to start calling CX first to inquire about the fare classes to then book my ticket online? Or should I stop booking my tickets online all together?

I love booking my tickets online as personally, I hate calling the people at CX for pretty much anything. I always finding myself repeating every sentence 4 times before they finally understand what I'm trying to say. Even my wife, a native Cantonese speaker finds talking to them exhausting.

So... could someone please enlighten me? Is there some secret way of finding out what fare class I am about to book from the XC website?

...or is this yet another airline hypocrisy where they they want to keep their customers as confused and stupid as possible so they can rip them off?
