Well I'll be darned... I didn't know SFO-HKG is more expensive than SFO-HKG-SIN. (hidden city alert?) But it's not "several hundred bucks" though; I remember paying $900 for an H fare about 3-4 yrs ago and lately haven't been paying more than $700s. Are you sure you're looking at the correct fare code?
