Since 8seat configuration was what the boeing really advertised past few years, this is very exciting. Also boeing has specifically Economic Plus configuration with 7seats across, 2-3-2 with 19inch(48cm) width.
If you look back at some of the original press releases NW had stated Y would be 18.5 width. Obviously not possible with a 3-3-3. So the hope would be 2-4-2 Y with 2-3-2 Y+ and 2-2-2 WBC. That would actually be quite exciting. 3-3-3 Y with 2-4-2 Y+ with 2-2-2 WBC, not as exciting. Specially for the launch customer.
The real interesting question is how is CO going to configure their 787s? They'll be right on the heals of NW.
