Part 1 - Mileage Run Observations

This weekend I'm in the midst of a 7200+ mile coast to coast mileage run in the hopes I can make 1K this year, despite months with limited flying due to an injury earlier this year.

My route was SFO-DEN-SAT-IAD-MHT.

Every flight was ON TIME. ^
Every flight had a COURTEOUS CREW. ^
My eXplus afternoon flight I was offered the breakfast box if I didn't want the pasta salad. ^
My first flight in an EBM 145, I found the ride surprisingly comfortable. We had 50 kts winds at FL 3000 and then crosswinds down to FL 1000 which made for a rockin' and rollin approach, but the pilots did a fine job. ^
Mileage for the first three segments had posted by the time I woke up this morning. ^

My only downside - the premium security boarding pass checker was allowing anyone into the line at SFO. It took me 20 minutes to get through security and I have never waited that long. Upon entering the RCC, I met with the agents at the service counter. They called the Front Lobby supervisor who, based on my description of the offending AirServ person said he knew exactly who I was talking about - and he would go speak to her manager immediately. After 10 minutes I was on my way out and they called me to the desk to let me know the matter had been handled. ^

With service like this, I'm glad to once again have the opportunity to be a 1K in 2008.
