While I like beef, I like turkey and lamb even more, so it could be a good substitution overall. But lamb chops? That's a bit boring. Strips of roast lamb, or shish kebabs, etc, would be lovely.

I read the other day that live cow prices in Australia were around 12-16c/kg in the 70's and are now hitting over $2/kg. Even with our rather weak dollar at the moment, that's quite a massive rise. ... and helping to bring in some nice foreign currency. While the airlines might start limiting beef now for disease reasons, the costs to them of including beef in the menu might be quite high for the foreseeable future.

Time for kangaroo to go on the menu?
