Hey, this all comes after an experience last fall when I checked in at the UA express gate at LAX. I was flying LAX-SNA-ORD with an HK-49. The gate agent at Express didn't know confirmed North American upgrades existed at all (by code or by name). granted, an express gate agent doesn't usually deal with them. I actually missed my flight because they could not figure out how to process it the ticket!
