Dear FlyerTalk Members:
I understand there are some concerns about making a reservation with the Gold Passport points to upgrade to a suite. Depending on the property location, there are two different booking methods. If the property is a domestic property, Hyatt Suite Desk Agents have the ability to confirm the availability of the use of Gold Passport points to upgrade to a suite. Unfortunately, if the property is international, the request to upgrade to a suite using Gold Passport points is sent directly to the hotel, as the agent is not able to provide a confirmation at the time of our member’s request.
In regards to the quoted rates of the domestic suite upgrades using Gold Passport points, at resort properties a member must pay a minimum of the deluxe prevailing rate (such as partial ocean view, ocean view, slope view, etc.). While at non-resort properties a member must pay a minimum of the prevailing rate. This information may also, be found in the program’s terms and conditions on
www.goldpassport.com.
I hope I was able to clarify some of the concerns as displayed in this thread. Thank you for your continued support of the Hyatt Gold Passport program.
Sincerely,
Karen Smith
