They say "no way, check back tomorrow morning, we are totally oversold". I ask them to check with the reservation manager, and the front desk tells me "there is no point, we are really oversold".
So..
I go online, check, and not only is the same room available, it is 89 GBP per night cheaper. So, I save money, but is there any sense to this??
Because the front desk is staffed with lying, ill-mannered chimps at many locations. It seems the product quality staff that is suppposed to keep tabs on these things(staff training)is next to non existant.
Make sure you confront the lying desk clerk-in front of management if possible.
Fibbing is ingrained in the Marriott culture-has been from the start of the chain.
