PAX berated for placing feet in Seatback Pocket

I've flown on WN hundreds of times but had never seen this until this week. Monday I took the 7:50 AM LAS-HOU flight, and had a middle seat. I noticed during the flight, a flight attendant addressed the lady sitting directly in front of me (another middle seat) a couple of times. The second time, I heard him say, "We've already warned you several times, and if we have to do it again, airport security will be waiting for you at the door in Houston".

I had no idea what he was talking about, so I looked around the seat, and the woman had been curled up in her seet, with her (bare) feet propped up in the seatback pocket from the seat in front of her. I heard the FA add "Not only is against regulations, but it's also inappropriate to both the passengers around you and the airline, as you could tear the seat pocket or some magazines."

I heard the lady explain that she had been asleep and had not even been aware that she had put her feet there. It apparently didn't happen again, but later while she was at the restroom, another FA came over and took down the people's names and personal info on either side of ther (an elderly couple), and the 3 of us sitting behind her.

Later the lady asked the people in front of her if she had disturbed them and they said "no". Then she flagged down the second FA and told her that no one around her had been disturbed, that she does this on every flight and this is the first time she's been threatened, that she would be talking to the FA's supervisor, and of course that she would never fly WN again (I doubt it).

Seems like a very petty rule to enforce...but regulations are regulations. And yes, this was a very petite woman, for those wondering how in the heck you could contort yourself to put your feet in the seatback pocket!

Has anyone else heard of this regulation or seen someone admonished for doing this?
