I normally check online first before even bothering to ask. Sometimes I get the feeling that the front desk staff are too lazy. It's happened many times at Marriott Chateau Champlain in Montreal. Then when I call downstairs to let them know that I have a reservation for another night and that I want it all on one bill and to re-program my room key... guess what happens? My now 're-programmed" key doesn't work, when I checkout the rate is wrong eventhough it was less than the first few nights and no it's not on one bill
