Back in Feb when I was flying SIN-HKG-SFO, I could not get an upgrade from Y to C, until calling for the uptenth time, the lady told me if I fly out on a weekday (perhaps Tues, she suggest), my chances of getting an upgrade is higher. true enough, it was. guess it helps if you wheedle abit more.
