My name is spelled Shxxxxxxx. For many years whilst I lived in Germany, I frequently had misspelled travel documentation, as Germans are culturally incapable of writing an h after s, without inserting a c in between. Indeed when I asked for my name I used to spell it, s, h no c, x, ..... (which still didn't completely prevent errors).
Since moving to French speaking Switzerland, things have improved somewhat, but a truly incomptent TA my company uses, got into bad habits again. I got them once to re-issue a ticket at their own cost and since then have had peace.
Most of the time, minor misspellings don't cause problems, but with the paranoia surrounding travel today, I prefer not to even provoke trouble.
