I would say hold on to your points as a transfer to Aeroplan is not possible. If you really want to use your points on AC you can always join Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus or SAS EuroBonus which are partners with Diners Club and then redeem for AC flights.

Have you ever given any thought to getting the MBNA SPG Mastercard? It comes with no annual fee and very generous bonuses. You can transfer your points from Starwood to Air Canada Aeroplan as long as you have one hotel stay at Starwood.
