Isn't a $50 coupon worth ... $50? Actually, it's worth more than $50 since AA uses it to offset base fares which decreases the 7.5% federal excise tax too. So it's worth $53.75 to those who actually would have flown AA anyway. Oftentimes they only offer a partial credit towards the annual fee or 3k miles or something like that. I'd rather have the $50 off coupon.
