Very good advice. I failed to do this one time with a less-than-enthusiastic US agent. He told me he had entered my MP #, but by the way he was fumbling around, I should have guessed he wouldn't have entered it correctly. I was eventually able to get credit for the flight because I held onto my original BP, but it would have been a lot easier just to insist on a new BP in the first place.
