I wouldn't say "a large amount of space." One of my colleagues described it as claustrophobic. Make sure you get row 6 or row 11 - the extra little triangle shelf of space makes all the difference. Still, despite the crampedness (is that a word?,) I sleep v. well on the AC planes. On a trip last week to NRT and back from HKG, I slept 6/8 hours. Waaaaay better than the ol' wedgie special 345.
