Phoenix Club
I had cause last weekend to find out that my lifetime membership to the Phoenix Clubs via America West is honored by USAirways clubs - after a small battle that is.
Seems America West didn't sell a whole lot of lifetime memberships to the PCs and I'm guessing they didn't expect any of them to get used after the merger.
I bought my lifetime membership in 1992 and after I had moved from an area that was an America West hub, I didn't have the opportunity to use it much. In fact, I hadn't used it in over 8 years until this past weekend when my AA flight cancelled and I had to use USAirways to get where I was going. Luckily, I still had my PC card in my membership cards wallet. Of course, upon entering the club, the desk agent all but told me to go to hell but after I convinced her to make a few calls, she found out the card was indeed still valid. Either that or she chose to accept it rather than argue. In any event, the airline didn't bankrupt, it merely merged with another and that should not invalidate a lifetime membership to their clubs when all fees have been paid.
I know it's been a long time, but a lifetime membership is a lifetime membership!
Regards if this info has already been posted.
PS - when I bought my lifetime membership, the cost was only $575.00 !! Don't know if it had anything to do with it but at the time I bought it I was on a full fare first class ticket on their 747 to HNL and on to Nagoya.
