I have noticed that UA boards FC individually first more often if they are boarding through the first door rather than when they board through the second door or both doors (rarely unfortunately). I think it is done this way so that FC can be settled before all of coach boards through FC. Makes sense to me, also most first class cabins are quite small and shouldn't take that long to board before premier passengers.
