Maybe this is a sign that DL considers such customers more profitable than those Medallion members -- PMs included -- who earn their status from flight activity alone. Or perhaps this is prep work to hike the status-earning requirements for Medallion status, at least at the Platinum level.
I go back and forth on this --- yes, having a bunch of elite members who don't fly that often is probably not going to impact me a whole lot, but for folks who fly a fair amount (say to get to FO, maybe even GM) those are now going to be PM and they will impact me with upgrades We'll just see how next year shakes out... I don't expect to be travelling as much anyway next year so it may not be an issue to me.

And, I expect that we'll see an increase in the MQM requirements (at least for PM)... if I had to guess (which I do in this case ) I'd bet it goes back to 100k for PM.
