British Airways offer on-board bottle warming and baby-food warming facilities (only un-opened food in a sealed jar) on our longhaul flights.
British Airways do not carry infant meals or baby milk on-board so we recommend that passengers travelling with a baby carry their own baby food and equipment (liquids and sufficient supplies of sterilised bottles, and teats) in their cabin baggage.
The Airline is not able to sterilise bottles or teats or provide sterilised water.

As for questioning why the OP is taking a car seat with him, I would suggest it's because he wants it in India. As such the weight is largely irrelevant and certainly IO
hfly, for us, an assigned seat on the plane for Jnr is very necessary. We've flown CW and CE with Jnr so far, and on the last flight 3-4 months ago she was too big for the bassinet, and almost too big for the BA Britax seat.

We have about 4 carseats and currently one infant who is too big to fit comfortably in BA's britax kit or the bassinet. Three of our carseats are here in India with us - one Britax birth to 3ish, and 2 bucket rear-only ones. None are CAA-approved. The fourth is in the UK, and is CAA-approved (according to the Britax website). Since I don't want to buy a fifth seat, we're going to bring the UK one back next time we fly from LHR to BOM. So on the return flight we're fine, as we'll have an approved seat. I only wanted to know if BA would let us sit the infant in a seat we'd paid the child fare for without a carseat when the seatbelt signs were off. I assumed yes but wanted to check beforehand as ba.com is unclear on this point, and don't wish to have to discuss the issue with Groundstaff/CC as we check in/board.

I can reasonably expect the flights we want to take to be full (we're travelling at peak season) and therefore no spare seats. Neither Mrs EB or I want a heavy 18month-old on our laps.

And Swiss Tony is correct, we want the carseat here in India. Weight is not an issue since I can manage the luggage at LHR, and in BOM my driver will wrestle the luggage from me as soon as he sees me .

Can of worms #2 : if I pay the child fare for an infant to have their own seat, will said infant get a meal (child or otherwise)?
