The button might only work if the other oxygen masks have dropped and your hasn't. There have been a couple times where people have suffered injuries because; they didn't pull down on the mask and no oxygen started (If you listened to Safety Demo you would know you have to pull down on the mask), they only placed it over their mouths (again safety demo), and some panels are jammed and don't open (might be what button is for). Just a thought
