On my first ever F flight with BA, which was just a couple of years ago to SFO, the captain came down to the First cabin to personally introduce himself to us.
He first stood in front of the cabin, welcoming us, giving us some details and then said a personal hello to everyone in First, and this was before we pushed back from the gate.
He then came down again during the flight to chat, and say another Hi.
I have never had this again on the few F flights I have taken since.

So, a one off? Or have other experienced this too?
