I originally had MSP-LAX-NRT in J/F, and MSP-LAX domestic portion was oversold. So I volunteered to go MSP-NRT nonstop (also in J). She had to get supervisor approval, but it was OK.
They took me, gave me $300 voucher, meals, etc.... I waited at the airport 6 hours till the nonstop to NRT, and ended up catching my original NRT-BKK flight.

Thanks. I agree with everything you have said. I am not checking any bags. Re-booking onward connections is a lot of work. If IAD-AMS option becomes available, is suggesting WBC too much? I did accept a bump on SEA-AMS once with my son. We were rerouted SEA-MSP-AMS in F/WBC although my fare was a K fare. What about the miles? Can I get miles as booked in the original itinerary?
