What is UA's policy on boarding sick pax?

The "vomit upgrade" thread got me thinking about the responsibility of UA with regard to a sick pax. If a pax checks in for a domestic flight looking feverish and coughing or sniffling is UA supposed to deny boarding? If a pax on a non-refundable ticket tells the GA that she is feeling sick to her stomach what does the GA say? Is it, "You can fly or not, but just so you know, if you decide not to take this flight there will be a $100 change fee plus any fare difference [between your booked way in advance fare and a last minute fare]"? Does the GA say, "Sorry, you can't board." In that case how would the non-refundable ticket be handled? Does a sick pax on a non-refundable ticket have a financial incentive to conceal his or her sickness?
If it turns out that someone with, say SARS, and obviously sick looking was boarded by UA and other passengers get sick, is UA liable?
