Are you ticketed on one itinerary? I had a late flight coming into London last October from LAX, and was paged on arrival to meet the British Midland rep who took us by van directly over to terminal 1, saving a lot of time. I made my flight to Ireland without any problem. There were 3 of us with tight connections that were all looked after. Assuming no delays getting to LHR, they might look after you.
